Pompeii

While in Italy, we took a Day Trip to Pompeii and visited the ancient ruins.

This is the entrance to the Pompeii ruins. Excavators are still working on the site to this day.

A good luck symbol the first residents had outside of their home.

A dancing Faun, that was a part of an open ceiling fountain.

Historical Rome

When walking the streets of Rome I could not escape all the history EVERYWHERE. It is hard to believe that so many important events happened in one place. You can stay in Rome for a month and still not see everything. But I will share with you the amazing, beautiful, and legendary sites that I was able to witness in person.

Bold Solid Dresses

The lady in this picture was strutting down the middle of the road with
no care in the world. Her whole outfit was stunning, especially THE SHOES.

This look is one of the many long in the back and short in the front dresses/skirts that I have seen since I have been in Rome, Italy. The dress is very casual but elegant as well. Just by changing the shoes, she can be ready for a dinner party. The dark orange color fits with the summer season and makes a bold statement.

This dress is very summery and reminds me of lemons. If you look closely you can see the lovely lace detail. This look has an elegant side to it as well. The dress seems perfect for drinking a glass of lemonade on a hot summer day or wearing to a wedding/graduation.

All these photos were taken on a street connected to Piazza del Popolo. The bright solid colors made it easy for me to spot them in different crowds and I could not resist taking their pictures.

This one couple were so into each other that they never noticed me taking pictures of them or they just did not care.

A Few Examples...

Feel free to tell me what you think.

The Fashion...

The local Italian people definitely know how to dress and they do it effortlessly. I noticed a trend of belted asymmetrical dresses, fun flower dresses, and lace. As for the shoes, I have noticed a lot of Adidas and Converse styled sneakers. In addition, the locals tend to wear ankle boots even if its 90 degrees Fahrenheit outside. Straw fedoras and unique patterned scarves are common as well. Overall the Italian style is very bold. Every person who walks by have their own style and are not afraid of color or crazy patterns. I have seen people combine patterns and colors in a way that I never seen before. People watching can be compared to sitting at a live Fashion Show. Every outfit was thought out and purposefully pieced together. I may be getting ahead of myself. Of course not every single person on the street looked amazing, however next to average streets you find in America, there is no comparison.
